Happy Birthday little man! 4 years old!! I can hardly believe it!!
You are getting really BIG!!!
Next week you start preschool and I am just so proud of you.
You are just the best little boy ever! You are so full of personality and so smart. I get such a kick out of the things that come out of your mouth and your daddy and I are amazed at the depth of your understanding about things.
You love your baby sister with all of your being and ask me if you can hold her all the time. I love to see you playing and then all of a sudden you go to her and give her hugs and kisses and then just go about playing again. You are so sweet with her. You have taken BIG brother to a level I didn't know existed!
My favorite time of day is tucking you in at night while I scratch your back at your request and praying for all the people you love.
I love it when you see any little creature...dogs, snails, moths, birds, worms or lightning bugs...you always say 'ahh-he is so cute!!'
You have a vivid imagination and are always explaining things to us...how to do this or why that is the way it is.
Most of all I love that you are such a loving and sweet gentle little boy who loves people and loves to have fun!

We came home today to find this little guy waiting for us...actually he was humongous!! I couldn't believe it!! I say a good 3 inches wide...

Jack had fun catching him...

and petting him...

but then he started to try and fly and...well...you can see Jack got a bit frightened!
Oh My Goodness...the look on his face is priceless!

His favorite thing to eat right now is 'crazy noodles' a.k.a. ramein noodles. And he likes to eat them like a bird (i'm the Mama bird) so he puts his head back and I raise the noodles over his head and feed him. He's funny!

Jack spent a few days with my parents this week. He had so much fun. Mom said they kept busy the whole time. He came home with a few things...
A bird's nest, some bugs, a tool box that him and Jamma painted, real tools and keys to Jamma and Jampa's house. I'd say he had a great time! He cried for her on the way home. He was thinking of excuses of why we needed to go back to Jamma's house. It's a good thing we will be seeing them in 3 days!!

I know these pictures are far back (double click to view larger)but I didn't want him to see me taking them. I wanted them to be as natural as possible. You see he is learning to pump when he swings. He started doing this the other day when I took him to the park. Of course I squealed with delight at my big boy! When I asked him who taught him how to do that he told me Mimi(his babysitter), Ryleigh and his best friend Chet did.

{Nightmares}

Ok...have you ever experienced night terrors?? I have now. Jack has been having them in a major way.
Last week at life group the kids wathced Monster Inc. ( a movie Jack loves) Well that evening he woke up terrified of the 'purple eyed monster'. He was so upset and then vomitted.
Well every night since he is scared to sleep in his room alone and wants us to sleep with him. He wakes up about every 45 minutes and screams for us. I couldn't understand how all of a sudden he was scared of monsters- he has watched that movie I don't know how many times!
Then, last night I heard him talking and crying in his sleep saying, 'NO! Get off of me. Leave me alone'
When I asked him about it he said it was Cooper. Cooper is a kid at the babysitter's who has bothered Jack for quite awhile. He is always in his face and hits him and pushes him down, according to Jack. The babysitter confirmed that yes Cooper does do all that. He often tells us he doesn't like Cooper.
I don't want to be overprotective but I also think this must be a pretty serious thing for Jack to be so upset about it. Oh yeah- and he also wet the bed last night after his nightmare...
Any suggestions?? My desire is so protect my child but not to over react. Is this just a phase or...? I don't know.
It's hard to see your kids going through a hard time and not being able to help.

I saw him carrying something in his hand tonight and then he ever so gently put it on the table and I saw it was a ladybug. He talked to it and pet it like it was his {pet}!
Mark said he used to play like that with ants. So cute!

Remember when you thought dandelions were really flower's? If you were like me I couldn't understand how people would think they were weeds!! It was sweet yesterday when Jack picked me this 'fower'. I of course went on about how beautiful it was and how sweet he was for picking it for me. I'm not ready for him to know it's a weed just yet!!

He crashed exactly 6 minutes onto the highway!!

I know you are not going to believe me but I did not tell him to pose like this! I was sitting on the couch and saw him talking to himself as he went to look at this box about 4 times. He kept whispering...'ok, then do this and go like that and then smile...look mommy!'

I think he is probably the only one that was excited to see snow in {april}! We woke up Monday morning and looked outside...Jack , in the cutest little ecstatic munchin voice said...'look mommy, it snowed for me!!'

He then asked if he could go make snow angels!

I was just looking at all these images again and couldn't help but laugh... he is wearing pajamas in every picture. He never wants to wear clothes- only jammies. He begs us to be able to wear them to the babysitters. I said he could wear jammies once a week. However I gave in today and let him wear his jammies for the second time this week to Mimi's! He wore his Spiderman jammies Wednesday and I had to take him to my Dr's appt. All the guys there thought he was so cool that he was Spidey- and they were all(especially the physical therapist!) shooting webs at each other! I did inform him though that when he starts school in September that he won't be able to wear jammies. He said that was ok. So my thinking is...he is not going to be little for very much longer so what is the harm in letting him wear his pj's ALL day EVERY day!! Sometimes I wish I could wear my pj's all day!!

Jack was excited that everyone came to church with us to pray for Ava! He brought tears to my eyes in church when he walked over to Ava during the service just to hold her hand. He loves her so much.

What's Jack up to?

Jack is at the age where he asks question after question after question. It's hard to know all the answers to all the questions. he doesn't accept 'just because' he wants to know why, when where and how. This is his typical 'hu?' face!!

We were sitting by the window this even and Jack looked out the window and said 'look daddy has a hook on his car for me'. Let me explain. When I teach him how to write his name I always tell him a hook for a 'j'. So he recognized that Marx licence plate had a 'j' just like his name. I explained what Marx licence plate said and he loved it!

I thought I would create a blog for each of the kids to post pictures and milestones and quotes and whatever else I think everyone would enjoying learning about them. I wanted to create a website for each of them but this is free so...I am hoping this will serve as a journal/scrapbook for them. I will still keep jaxmom2.blogspot.com but hope to do one for each of the kiddos too. This might prove to be too much but we'll see...
